Cali is our first mini aussie and
the one who started Sierra Miniature Australian Shepherds. After meeting
San Diego Breeder Lynn Whinery at a Fun Match in San Diego, we decided
we liked what we saw and started saving our money for our first mini
aussie. We first saw Cali in a picture Lynn had mailed to us and, after
deciding to buy her, shipped her from San Diego to our home in Fresno.
The minute she walked out of the shipping crate, we fell in love with
her! She was smarter, sweeter, and more devoted than any dog we had ever
had.
Cali is a red merle with blue eyes
and is drop-dead gorgeous (of course, we are a bit biased!). Cali had several litters
during her breeding lifetime, producing wonderful, high quality dogs
with wonderful dispositions. We have been so pleased with the
consistency of her pups, and one of our current breeding females is Cali's
daughter, Dancer (Sierra's Dances With Wolves)..
In March of 2002, Cali was spayed
as a result of a massive uterine infection. She now lives a life
of luxury, taking care of and spoiling grandbabies, and running the show
around here, just like she's always done. I guess some things
never change!
